On Monday the chairs of the Energy and Technology Committee unveiled the "Take Back Our Grid Act." The legislation seeks to hold Connecticut utilities responsible and provide stronger protections for ratepayers.

State Representative Kara Rochelle (D – Ansonia/Derby) coordinated an effort earlier in June to advocate for federal funds for Connecticut's small- and mid-sized hospitals that were excluded from vital financial assistance provided through the $10 billion COVID-19 High Impact Allocation.

Over 40,000 Connecticut residents have become sick with COVID-19, many of them are front-line workers who got sick at work. Co-Chairs of the Insurance Committee and Labor Committee held an oversight hearing to discuss how worker's compensation can help people who've contracted COVID-19 while on the job. 

The planned Phase 2 reopening has been moved forward to June 17, 2020 to avoid having it take effect during the busy Father's Day weekend. It had previously been scheduled for Saturday, June 20.

School districts will be able to hold in-person graduation ceremonies starting July 6, 2020 as long as they follow strict guidelines, including requirements that the graduations are held outdoors, they are limited to a maximum of 150 people in attendance (including graduates), and follow social distancing protocols.
