It's been another busy few weeks up here at the Capitol!

First, I want to congratulate my alma mater on winning a fifth NCAA National Championship! Congratulations, Huskies!

We are in the midst of three special religious holidays - Passover, Easter, and Ramadan. If you celebrate, I wish you a happy and peaceful holiday.

I'm happy to report that Ellington has received $3.7 million for upgrades to air filtration systems at Center School, Ellington Middle School, and Ellington High School. Vernon and East Windsor will be receiving arts grants as well. 

I have so much to share with you - legislative updates, Ag Day 2023, honoring Seth Bahler as Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year, CIF funding for East Windsor, honoring Geissler's Supermarkets on 100 years of service, construction projects, and more.

East Windsor will receive $4 million in Community Investment Funds for a water line extension project.

It has been busy, both in Hartford and in the district!

I'm proud to have led the effort to utilize $60 million of federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to ensure every child in Connecticut can access free school lunches for the remainder of the school year. Equitable access to proper nutrition in school is necessary to supporting a child's ability to learn and thrive.

I am pleased to announce that Oakridge Farm in Ellington has been selected as one of 21 farms across the state to receive the Farmland Restoration Program (FLRP) grant. Oakridge Farm was awarded this grant to fund the dredging of drainage ditches, a key process in maintaining high soil quality and increasing yields for livestock feed crops.
