As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for allowing me to represent you in the Connecticut General Assembly.

Due to a system outage that may have prevented many customers from enrolling in health and dental coverage by the Dec. 15 deadline for coverage effective Jan. 1, Access Health CT is extending the enrollment deadline. Customers now have until Saturday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. to enroll in coverage beginning Jan. 1.

As we head into the winter season, I want to be sure you have the information you need to protect your family’s health and financial well-being.

This week, the Connecticut House of Representatives suffered a devastating loss with the passing of State Representative Kevin Ryan.

I hope this email finds you and your family well. This past Wednesday, the House reconvened at the Capitol for a special session to address several important issues impacting residents across the state of Connecticut.

Late last week, I sent out an email regarding the current status of SNAP. On Friday, two federal judges ruled that at least some funding from the USDA emergency fund had to be released.

Early voting has started, and will end Sunday, Nov. 2. Hours are daily (Sunday through Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Tuesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 30, which have extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

With fall comes cooler weather, changing leaves, and a number of new laws hitting the books. Several measures passed during the 2025 legislative session took effect on Oct. 1. Below is a brief overview of some of these important changes.
