June 7, 2023After months of negotiations, the House of Representatives delivered a state budget that includes the largest income tax cut in the state’s history and significant increases in funding for local schools.
K-12 needed more resources, so we prioritized educational spending and special education funding in the new two-year balanced and bipartisan state budget.

Increasing Accountability Among Utility Companies
May 3, 2023The Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) unanimously voted to begin a search for consultants to monitor the performance of the state's two electric distribution companies - Eversource and United Illuminating. This is an important step toward eventually shifting to performance-based regulation for the companies.
CGA Kickball Classic
May 1, 2023I participated in the CGA Kickball Classic, a tradition between The Democrats and Republicans. The game was held at Dunkin Park in the name of charity, raising money for the Q Fund at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County and the Sarah Foundation in memory of Q Williams and Noreen Kokoruda. Although it wasn't the outcome we Democrats had hoped for (Republicans won, 7-1), we had fun!
