CT Insurance Department Public Hearing Scheduled for August 21st

The public hearing will take place on Monday, August 21, at 9 a.m. Testimony can be shared in person at the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue in Hartford, or over Zoom virtually. Connecticut Insurance Department officials and representatives from insurance companies are expected to attend.

Additional SNAP Benefits for CT's Children

The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS), in consultation with the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE), has announced that $8.8 million in special food assistance benefits is scheduled to be distributed Sunday, August 13, 2023, to the families of 57,313 children under age 6 who are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Summer at the Museum is BACK!

Under the program, Connecticut children 18 years of age and under – plus one accompanying adult – can receive free admission to any of the participating museums, including historic house museums, historic sites, historical societies, art museums, children’s museums, science centers, special-interest museums, natural history museums, university museums, arboretums/botanical gardens, and zoos.

Op-Ed: How We Create a Range of Housing That Works for Ridgefield

Thanks to ongoing conversations with Ridgefield's Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Selectmen, and the local Council of Governments, as well as other state legislators from Fairfield County, I have given direct feedback to leadership at the Capitol on housing bills, with the goal of arriving at a final bill that could help Ridgefield, and at the very least, won’t harm us. None of the bills before us are in their final form, and none have the same language or specifications they had when heard in the public hearing, but I will continue to advocate for Ridgefield until they are ready to be voted on in either chamber.
