Rosario - Casino Bill Statement

State Rep. Christopher Rosario Statement on Committee Decision Not To Move Casino Bill Forward

“I am extremely disappointed at Public Safety Committee co-chair Senator Larson’s decision not to allow our casino bill come for a vote today in spite of the amount of support it generated at the public hearing, including Attorney General Jepsen’s testimony that opening the bidding process would not jeopardize the compact agreement. This move denies a fair opportunity to all of those who have shown interest in the open bidding process and foils the hopes for jobs and economic development of so many unemployed individuals in our community. The unwillingness of the co-chair to bring this bill to the General Assembly for consideration baffles me and upsets me. I will continue to work with the Bridgeport delegation and my colleagues in the legislature to explore our possible options.”
