Pushing for police accountability

June 6, 2017

After recent high-profile incidents in Connecticut, I joined my colleagues in support of House Bill 6663, which aims to establish meaningful accountability for police officers who use excessive force.

Here is a video with my remarks on the House Floor in support of the bill.

I support this bill not because I am against law enforcement, but because we are asking for more transparency in this process as we look to protect citizens and police officers. The tragic events involving citizens and police officers across our nation and here at home are alarming. We will continue our push to address this issue until we find a solution to this problem.
