Medicare Savings Program Restored

January 8, 2018

In a bipartisan vote, the House of Representatives today voted to restore $54 million in funding to the Medicare Savings Program (MSP). More than 113,000 seniors and disabled individuals depend on the state program to purchase their Medicare Part B benefits.

Many residents in Bridgeport have reached out to me to discuss how they would be impacted by the cut to MSP and I want you to know that I heard you and I shared your concerns with my colleagues in the legislature. Connecticut takes care of its seniors.

I am pleased that this vital lifeline was restored.
