East Hartford And Manchester To Receive Grants From State For Brownfields

Good news for East Hartford and Manchester. The state has approved grants for remediation of blighted properties targeted for redevelopment.

A $200,000 grant to East Hartford has been approved for abating hazardous building materials in a former public housing area at 590 Burnside Ave. This will help development of the site so it can be put into productive use.

A $100,000 grant also has been approved for Manchester for an assessment project for future revitalization. The project at this point consists of investigation and monitoring of three parcels on 1.5 acres located at 295, 299, and 303 Broad Street.
