Roberto Clemente Youth League in Full Swing

It gives me tremendous pride to announce that kids are playing ball in the Roberto Clemente Youth League in the south end of Waterbury for the first time in 47 years! Several baseball leagues are underway, and the players are loving every second of batting and fielding in the brand-new George Tirado Sr. Park.

It’s a privilege and an honor as proud Puerto Ricans, proud Hispanics, and proud Americans to continue Roberto Clemente’s legacy with this amazing league right here in the great city of Waterbury. Roberto Clemente was more than just a legendary baseball player. He was a symbol of excellence, dedication, and humanitarianism. His impact on the sport and his commitment to helping others continue to inspire us.

Thank you to the many sponsors and volunteers who have contributed to the early success of this league. The entire community is beaming with pride. Make sure to come out with the family and watch the little guys learn teamwork, discipline, work ethic, and skills all while having fun!
