Tour of Industrial Heater Corp.
I visited local manufacturer Industrial Heater Corp/Hi-Tech Fabrication in Cheshire recently to tour the facilities and discuss efforts to support the growth of Connecticut’s manufacturing industry. In business for over 96 years, the company manufactures standard and custom heaters for industrial applications as well as precision sheet metal parts.
In May, the State Bond Commission approved a loan of $543,000 to Industrial Heater Corp. to assist with machinery and equipment purchases and building improvements. As part of the loan agreement, the company will retain 44 jobs and create 4 new jobs.
Local manufacturers are thriving, and Industrial Heater Corp. is just one example of that success. As the industry grows, we must continue strengthening our school to career pipeline to meet the increased demand for skilled workers.
