Securing Transit Funding

June 8, 2016

I am excited to announce that Torrington received a state grant of $1,825,000 to construct a two-mile extension of the existing three-mile Sue Grossman Still River Greenway into downtown Winsted. The grant will also be used to prepare final design & construction plans for the remaining five miles into downtown Torrington. The extension is designed to establish safe routes for pedestrians and bicyclists between two city centers.

I want to thank the governor for approving this grant and recognizing that the extension will enhance the quality of life for our residents.
