I recently spoke with CNN about my leadership in helping pass Connecticut’s new election protection law from the Trump administration, which includes some of the nation’s strongest safeguards against ICE lawlessness to ensure we hold safe, secure, and accessible elections.
Public Act 26-42 bars federal law enforcement within 250 feet of polling places or other sensitive election sites without authorization from state election officials or a court order. The law also prohibits the wearing of masks except for medical or religious reasons.
Our actions drew national attention as CNN examined how certain states are working to prevent potential interference from the White House and maintain public confidence in the integrity of our elections. |
