Home Heating Assistance
Even though the weather is getting chillier, you still have time to apply for benefits through Connecticut’s Energy Assistance Program! The deadline to submit applications for the 2023-2024 winter heating season is May 31, 2024.
Enrollment for the program occurs on an annual basis so even if you received assistance last year, you will need to re-apply. CLICK HERE for more information on eligibility and how to apply.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month and all year long, I'm committed to fighting for those affected by breast cancer here in Connecticut. We will never stop working to find cures, address the needs of patients and their families, and make treatments affordable.

We have many more tools at our disposal to fight this awful disease. Doctors use mammograms, which are x-ray exams used to detect breast cancer in those who may not be showing or be aware of breast cancer symptoms.

You can find a screening center by clicking RIGHT HERE. Anyone who needs assistance obtaining a mammogram can find resources available online at ct.gov/dph/screening or they can call 860-509-7804 for more information.

It’s important for women to begin discussing getting baseline mammograms around the age of 40 especially if there is a family history of breast cancer. Now, health insurance companies are covering some breast cancer screenings.

This landmark legislation requires certain health insurance policies to cover a baseline mammogram for a woman age 35 to 39 and one every year for a woman age 40 or older.

No out-of-pocket costs

No meeting outrageous deductibles

No co-pays

No co-insurance or cost-sharing

That's the power of legislation!

National Drug Take Back Day

Communities across the state will be holding collection drives on Saturday, October 28 from 10 A.M. - 2 P.M. including Stamford. Please read below for information on that.
