I was proud to stand up for you, and with colleagues including Danbury's own Senator Julie Kushner to support HB5353, An Act Concerning A Fair Work Week Schedule.

Too many of our neighbors are struggling to keep a roof over their heads, put food on the table, and make ends meet. They are most likely to be women in their 20s and 30s with a family to support.

When they get a low paying job at a big box store or food service place, they cannot rely on a schedule that allows them to take car of their family, arrange for child care (if it's even available), or juggle the two or more jobs they have. They cannot know how much they will take home. They have no routine, and not only do they suffer, but so do their kids.

That's why I've co-sponsored this long overdue legislation. Simply put, big businesses would be required to provide advance notice to certain employees of the employees' work schedule. You can watch my remarks by clicking on the video here.
