Expect Delays on I-84 and Route 73

Drivers can expect delays in Waterbury on I-84 and Route 73 next week and beyond for road work. Crews will begin by removing a damaged sound barrier at night on I-84 west between Exit 26 and 25. Lanes will be closed Monday through Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Also on Wednesday, the Connecticut Department of Transportation will perform guiderail upgrades on Route 73 from the Watertown town line to Kaynor Drive in Waterbury. There will be slowdowns in that area from April 23 to May 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Flaggers will help drivers through both work zones. The road work schedule could change based on the weather.
