Rep. Napoli speaks with local business women

Rep. Napoli outlined legislative priorities to support women-owned businesses and women in the workplace. These include:

  • Elimination of the small business entity tax
  • Expanding the Angel Investor tax credit for small business
  • Employers must provide a reasonable workplace environment for pregnant employees
  • A $450,000 grant to the Women’s Business Development Council
  • Established an entrepreneur learner’s permit pilot program for first time entrepreneurs
  • Required sexual harassment training to employees

Rep. Napoli also provided information about agencies that support women-owned small businesses, including:

  • Young Professionals of Greater Waterbury (YOP)
  • Chamber of Commerce
  • Girlboss Grant Foundation
  • Small Business Administration

"Ron Napoli addressed several women's issues," said Jane Polacco, ABWA Nutmeg Chapter Vice President. "As business owners it is important to know our legislators are working on our behalf. Mr. Napoli discussed a number of current topics of interest to our members."
