Mushinsky Named Assistant Deputy Speaker
Mary Mushinsky (D-Wallingford) has been tapped to serve in a new leadership capacity by Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin/Southington). Mushinsky, who has been serving since 1981, has been named Assistant Deputy Speaker.
She retains her membership on the Environment and Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committees and picks up a new assignment to serve on the Higher Education & Employment Advancement Committee for the 2017 Legislative Session.
“I am grateful to Speaker Aresimowicz for allowing me to serve in this new role,” Rep. Mushinsky said. “It is an honor to be able to work on behalf of my constituents in the Connecticut General Assembly. Each session brings new challenges, but I begin each one with a renewed commitment to make the state a better place to work, live and raise a family.”
