Resources for Impacted Small Businesses

A number of organizations have offered up resources and training to those local businesses affected by the pandemic.

  • The CT Department of Economic and Community Development's resource page is offering baseline guidance for local businesses
  • The CDC is offering guidance and resources for impacted businesses
  • Connecticut's Small Business Development Center is offering resources for small businesses impacted
  • Connecticut's Women's Business Development Council is offering virtual classes and counseling for small businesses impacted
  • SCORE is offering webinars and free mentoring for small businesses impacted
  • DECD and AdvanceCT are offering a survey to get feedback from CT businesses on the impact of the coronavirus. The results will help the state better respond to businesses struggling during this difficult time

Small Business Loan Eligibility

The Governor announced that small businesses and nonprofits affected by COVID-19 are now officially eligible for disaster relief loans of up to $2 million from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

In addition to disaster relief loans for small businesses, the Fairfield County Community Foundation recently announced it is launching a COVID-19 Resiliency Fund.

The Fund’s purpose is to help alleviate the social and economic consequences of this global pandemic and to prevent the widening of disparities in education, employment, housing, and health.

The new Fund will rapidly deploy resources to trusted, front-line community organizations that meet the basic needs of local residents in Fairfield County including

  • Low-income individuals without health insurance and/or access to sick days
  • Immigrants
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Communities of color, among others

The Fund has been set up with generous seed funding from a cross-section of individuals, private foundations, corporations and others.
