Cheshire Flu Shot Clinics
Today I received my flu vaccination at a Flu Shot Clinic held by the Chesprocott Health District - check out the video below! The Health District will hold two clinics in Cheshire on October 10th, and one on October 22nd. Full details are available on their webpage.
I encourage everyone to consider getting a flu shot this season, and the Health District has done an amazing job making it easier than ever. They have organized these clinics to offer easy access to the public, and they even have a mobile flu shot van to reach more sites. The flu virus is responsible for a startling number of hospitalizations and deaths each year, particularly for the elderly and children. It’s not just about protecting yourself, but also the more vulnerable people around you.
According to the Connecticut Department of Public Health, in the 2016-2017 flu season there were 7,401 confirmed cases of influenza and 2,164 hospitalizations and 53 deaths related to influenza.
