Welcoming SBC Funding for Fairfield; Funding Expansion Use for Trumbull
I'm happy to share that the State Bond Commission has approved two items on their agenda that impact Trumbull and Fairfield.
The State Bond Commission approved expanding the use of $500,000 previously allocated funding for Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Connecticut Headquarters for renovations and improvements, to include reimbursement for damage caused by flooding.
I'm also happy to celebrate - along with State Representatives Jennifer Leeper & Cristin McCarthy Vahey - the $2.5 million approved by the State Bond Commission for the Town of Fairfield for capital costs related to the design, planning, and construction of an adaptive recreation center at 224 Colony Street in Fairfield, eventually replacing The Pilot House. The state dollars will supplement investments from the town and advance a cause championed by town leaders, especially the late First Selectman, Bill Gerber.
The adaptive recreation center was a priority of Bill's, and I’m so happy this bonding will allow Fairfield to fulfill his vision.
