Dear Neighbor,

Thursday is Independence Day! I hope you are able to spend quality time with family and friends and taking advantage of the beautiful days of summer.

As we gear up for festive celebrations, let's remember the importance of firework safety!

Ensure a fun and safe experience by following guidelines: keep a safe distance, never relight duds, and always have water nearby. Let's celebrate responsibly and protect ourselves and our communities.

Norwalk and Westport will put on shows over the next few days. Read below to learn more!

Fireworks in Norwalk and Westport

The annual PAL fireworks display in Westport will happen tonight, with a rain date of Wednesday July 3. If you are interested in attending, it is recommended that you arrive as early as possible to account for traffic delays.

Please be sure to use the sidewalks  when walking to and from Compo beach. Click here for more information.

Norwalk will hold their annual fireworks show at Calf Pasture Beach on Wednesday, July 3 beginning at 5:30 pm. Music and entertainment for all ages. Rain date is Friday, July 5.

Residents park for free. Non-resident parking is $40.

Shady Beach is resident parking only. Overflow parking will be at Taylor Farm. Picnic tables are first come, first serve, and cost $5 for residents, and $25 for non-residents.

This is community-based research that aims to learn what keeps transgender youth going and how to spread that information to the community. Please see the flyer below for more information.
City of Norwalk Switches to a New Emergency Notification System

The City of Norwalk has switched from Code Red to Everbridge for its emergency notification system. The City’s transition to Everbridge as its new emergency notification system (Notify Norwalk) aims to provide residents with a more robust and customizable communication experience while allowing the City to save funds.

Even if you were signed up for the old system you will have to register for the new one. Click here to learn about the new system and to sign up for alerts that go straight to your cell phone.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions and concerns you may have - I can be reached at Dominique.Johnson@cga.ct.gov, or through my office phone - 860-240-8585.
