Tomorrow, I will join my legislative colleagues at the State Capitol for another session day to vote on several important bills. A session day is a key part of our legislative process as it is the time when all the members of the House of Representatives gather to debate, consider and vote on legislation.

Earlier this week, Congress officially passed the American Rescue Plan (ARP), and it was signed into law by President Biden on Thursday afternoon.

Last week, Governor Lamont signed several bills into law that make great strides to moving our state forward.

Governor Lamont has announced a phased rollback of some COVID-19 restrictions.

The CT Department of Labor will now offer in-person employment services at Regional American Job Centers (AJC). Representatives from AJC are available to provide assistance with resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills and other career related concerns. 

Vaccine eligibility will expand to the 55-64 age group beginning on March 1 and dedicated clinics for educators and childcare providers will also begin in March.

In the final week of February, a month of reflection and forward thinking, let us take a moment to place deserved light on one of our own residents. Odessa Terry was an important member of our community.
