I wanted to share something meaningful that happened this week.

The Spring 2026 issue of Connecticut Voice, the state’s leading LGBTQ+ publication, features the work of the Connecticut LGBTQ+ Caucus, and I was honored to be included on the cover in my role as Co-Chair of the caucus.

Today I joined a bipartisan group of legislators in asking the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) to pause any final decision on the proposed sale of Aquarion Water Company.

This Friday, the Planning & Development Committee will hold a public hearing on HB 5283: An Act Authorizing Municipalities to Prohibit the Sale of Dogs, Cats, and Rabbits in Pet Shops, and I am proud to be a co-sponsor of this legislation.

This week, the Judiciary Committee raised legislation I introduced to improve how Connecticut tracks and reports domestic violence cases.

This bill is personal.

Last week was opening day of the 2026 Legislative session. My colleagues and I are gearing up for a busy short session, working hard to pass critical legislation through May 6th. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve Bethel and Danbury in the Connecticut General Assembly.

Over the last month, I have spent time meeting with Bethel and Danbury residents, families, organizations, community leaders, and many more members of our community ahead of the 2026 Legislative Session. These conversations were an opportunity to listen to those in the 2nd District about what their priorities and concerns are as we head into another legislative session.

Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech during the March on Washington in 1963 for jobs, freedom, civil rights, and an end to racism.
