Proudly Accepting NCBW Visionary Award
March 19, 2026
Earlier today, I proudly accepted the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., New Haven Metropolitan Chapter Visionary Award "in recognition of your outstanding service and unwavering commitment to advancing bills that touch on health and wellness, equity for all."
Many thanks to you and the 100 Black Men of Stamford for bestowing this honor on me. I am truly humbled.

As a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 19th District, your leadership has made a meaningful and lasting impact on communities across our state. We especially commend your support and advocacy for the legislation of insurance coverage of coronary calcium scans for high-deductible individual and group-health insurance policies. This effort will help expand access to preventive care and save lives.
As you conclude your service in the legislature and will not be seeking reelection, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your dedication, leadership, and tireless work on behalf of the people of Connecticut. Your commitment to addressing health disparities and improving outcomes for all residents exemplifies true visionary leadership.
We thank you and honor you for your extraordinary service." - Valencia A. Goodridge, Interim President & First Vice President of Programs
