Governor Ned Lamont announced last week that the state’s severe cold weather protocol will be in effect until noon on Saturday, Feb. 22. During this time, temperatures are expected to drop to the single-digits.
While activated, the protocol initiates a series of actions to ensure that the most vulnerable populations receive protection from the severe cold. As a reminder, Farmington's Warming Center locations is the Farmington Community Center, located at 321 New Britain Ave.
The Community Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 10 p.m. The warming shelter can also be opened by calling the routine number at Farmington Police Department – 860-675-2400.
