College Interns Needed At State Capitol

September 21, 2017

Dear Neighbor,

The General Assembly's Legislative Internship Program is now accepting applications for spring 2018.

Interns work one-on-one with legislators and learn how our state government works. I've had many wonderful interns over the years, and I encourage you to share this opportunity with a college student in your life.

The program runs from January to May, corresponding with the legislative session and the spring academic semester. While serving within the Connecticut General Assembly, our interns gain insight and access to the legislative players and policy making process. Our program also offers a unique opportunity for students to explore careers in public service while earning credit, practical experience and professional connections that will last a lifetime.

Eligible students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have earned 20 or more academic credits
  • Possess a minimum 2.7 grade point average
  • Be available for the duration of the program

Program information and application instructions are available here.

You may also email cgaintern@cga.ct.gov with questions. The deadline for applications is Nov.1.

Please pass this opportunity along to students who may be interested. I look forward to meeting next year's group of talented young leaders!

Sincerely, Larry Butler
