I had a wonderful time with my wife at Stonington Borough’s annual Lobster Trap Tree Lighting this evening! This beloved tradition brings our community together in the most festive way. A huge thank you to the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce for organizing such a special event that highlights the charm of our region.

I joined Lieutenant Governor Bysiewicz, Congressman Joe Courtney, and others at Seacoast Mushrooms in Stonington for the CT Veteran Grown Press Conference hosted by Connecticut Resource Conservation & Development - CT RC&D.

Chris Pacheco, a Navy Submariner Veteran and owner of Seacoast Mushrooms, shared his inspiring journey from serving undersea to cultivating gourmet mushrooms right here in Stonington. We also celebrated the “Served Then, Still Serving Now” mini-documentary featuring Chris and other Veteran farmers.

After the event, Chris gave a fascinating tour of his farm, showcasing the innovation and dedication that define Connecticut’s Veteran farmers.
