We Secured $15 Million+ in State Funding for Stamford Projects

June 18, 2026

I am pleased to share the Stamford Delegation secured more than $15 million in state funding for four transformative projects that will strengthen our community, expand opportunity, and improve quality of life for Stamford residents.

These investments will support early childhood education, affordable housing redevelopment, school improvements, and substance-use recovery services, helping ensure that Stamford remains a vibrant place to live, learn, and thrive.

Projects receiving state funding include:

The largest award, $7 million, will support the renovation and expansion of the Grove Head Start facility, creating enhanced learning opportunities for young children and families.

An additional $6 million will fund the demolition of St. John Towers, paving the way for the redevelopment of affordable housing and future community investment.

The Stamford Charter School for Excellence will receive $2.4 million for capital improvements, including architectural, engineering, and construction costs associated with facility upgrades.

Finally, Liberation Programs will receive $250,000 to renovate the first floor of Liberation House, improving services and support for women recovering from substance-use disorders.

The State Bond Commission approved these funds, including three Community Investment Fund grants. I am grateful to Governor Ned Lamont, House Speaker Matt Ritter, Majority Leader Jason Rojas, Bonding Committee Chairman Ron Napoli, and my colleagues in the Stamford Delegation for their partnership and commitment to investing in our city’s future.
