Millions in Funding Secured for Stamford

July 18, 2024

As your State Representative, I continue to work tirelessly to deliver vital funding to Stamford to support our children, families, and neighborhoods. The Stamford legislative delegation and I helped secure millions for our students and schools, ensuring they have access to the resources and opportunities necessary for a high-quality education. More than $97 million will go toward new construction that will improve our school facilities and bring essential supplies and technology to our classrooms, and millions more will help fund education, local nonprofits, and youth services.
Additionally, I have advocated for and obtained substantial financial support in the form of $3.4 million in American Rescue Plans Act (ARPA) funds for vital organizations that serve our community. There are too many to list them all, but they include Ferguson Library, Building One Community, which aims to advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families, and Silversource, which provides housing and medical care for seniors in need.
My colleagues and I also secured hundreds of thousands of dollars for youth programs. They help children create positive identity, respect others, develop decision-making skills, identify with the community, and so much more. Mill River Collaborative will continue to be dedicated to creating and sustaining a world-class park in the heart of downtown Stamford. INTEMPO will provide kids with music education in a beautiful, brand-new space on Franklin Street. The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford will offer children a positive environment where they will build bonds with peers and caring adults.
By directing funds to these organizations, we are able to address the diverse needs of our residents, fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
