Investing in Traffic and Pedestrian Safety
January 24, 2024This morning, I joined Congresswoman Hayes, First Selectman Carter, and local leaders to announce that the Western Connecticut Council of Governments' (WestCOG) Safe Streets and Roads for All application has secured a whopping $3,959,346 in federal funds! These funds will pave the way for crucial vehicle and pedestrian safety improvements at 93 locations across our region.
In Bethel, we're thrilled to share the specific projects earmarked for improvement:
- Greenwood Ave from Farnam Hill to Grand St
- Install high-visibility crosswalks to improve delineation of intersections and driveways and to slow traffic. Install dynamic speed feedback sign.
