June 3, 2019I am very proud of legislation that passed with overwhelming support in both the House and Senate regarding Connecticut’s rapidly growing craft beer, wine and cider industries. In just a few short years these industries have grown from a few hundred jobs to several thousand and generate millions for the state economy. Bridgeport is home to excellent craft breweries such as Brewport and Aspetuck Brew Labs in Bridgeport so this legislation will help them continue to grow.

May 17, 2019Hourly minimum-pay employees are moving closer to a living wage. The House has approved House Bill 5004 to increase the minimum wage incrementally to $15 in 2023. The last time the minimum was increased was in 2017 and our families need to have a chance. No one who works full-time should have to live in poverty.
