I recently attended the CT State College Legislative Breakfast at Norwalk Community College, where campus CEO Cheryl De Vonish, CSCC State President John Maduko, and CSCC Chancellor Terrence Cheng shared the campus’s positive academic metrics and discussed the importance of building partnerships with legislators and the business community.

I am pleased to announce the Community Investment Fund has recommended $1.75 million in funding for two vital Norwalk projects.

As state representative for Norwalk’s 140th District and a former two-time World Boxing Association super welterweight champion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on Mayor Harry Rilling's retirement after over 50 years of dedicated public service.

Before I discuss the business at the Capitol from this week, I want to take a moment to thank everyone once again for the outpouring of support you've given me and my family after the passing of my beloved mother.

We will be in session on Monday and, unusually, we aren’t starting until 5 p.m. to allow time for public hearings and committee meetings. More details to come on what we will be working on as we are finalizing that this week.

With the session in full swing, I want to provide you with the information and tools to follow along with what I and my fellow legislators are doing.

The General Assembly held a joint session on Wednesday to hear Gov. Ned Lamont present his proposed budget. The governor highlighted a number of key areas to fund, including special education, childcare, and housing.

I understand there is a lot of uncertainty, anxiety and concern over the recent attempt by the federal government to pause non-defense and Social Security spending, as well as the ramping up of arrests of immigrants in our communities.
