As we wrapped up the last six months of work, one of the most talked about issues was the state budget, but equally important are many measures we passed that may be of interest to you, some of which have already been signed by Governor Lamont.

I am pleased to report the House passed legislation that will facilitate minority teacher recruitment and retention across the state.

After many hours of debate over the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) legislation, House Democrats passed a bill which was already approved by the Senate. It now goes to the governor for his signature.

The House of Representatives are in session and we passed HB 5002 which is a comprehensive energy bill the will extend virtual net metering for two more years breathing life into the solar power industry.

Honored to join my colleagues and friends at Meriden's Memorial Day Parade remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. I honor them and offer my deepest gratitude and respect for their service.

The House of Representatives approved legislation for including African-American, Puerto Rican and Latino studies in the public high school curriculum.

Minimum wage workers are moving closer to a living wage. The House approved House Bill 5004 to increase the minimum wage incrementally over the next few years to $15 in 2023.
