Needed Investments in Higher Education, Childcare, Mental Health and Non-Profits
May 8, 2024With the two-year $26 billion budget passed by the legislature last year remaining strong and in balance, we were able to make much-needed new investments in important areas such as higher education, early childcare, mental health services, and our non-profit community.

Helping Support Our Disabled Veterans
April 29, 2024HB 5491 establishes a property tax exemption for Veterans who have a service-connected permanent and total disability rating as determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The exemption will be used for a home that is a primary residence, but if a qualified Veteran does not own a home, the exemption will apply to a single motor vehicle that they own.

Cracking Down on Street Takeovers
April 18, 2024On Wednesday, the House of Representatives took bipartisan and unanimous action to help cities and towns regain control of their streets as we voted 148-0 to pass HB 5413 to control takeovers, which have proven to be a concern for many of our residents.
Grant Announcement for West Haven Community House
April 12, 2024Governor Ned Lamont announced that his administration is awarding approximately $35.5 million in state funding to nonprofit providers across Connecticut for capital improvement projects that support each respective organization in their mission of delivering services to some of the state’s most vulnerable residents.
I'm pleased to share with you that West Haven Community House will receive $147,000 for a handicap-accessible lift for 227 Elm Street.
