Topping Off Ceremony for Fire Training School
Earlier this week I attended the topping off ceremony for the Regional Fire Training School. The man of the hour at the ceremony was Assistant Fire Chief Chris Tracy. Years of his hard work and advocacy in Hartford and here in Fairfield, together with the support of legislators from both parties, has resulted in what will be a state of the art facility to insure fire fighters' proper training.
Thanks is also owed to Representatives Betty Boukus and Joe Aresimowicz, who have helped to champion these regional training academies for all of our Connecticut firefighters. Investing in our first responders is a critical need, and quality training keeps both fire fighters and the people they serve safe.
Fairfield recently received $500,000 in state funding for equipment to complete the Fire School renovation project. I'm proud that Fairfield is home to an institution that plays such an essential role in the safety and wellbeing of Connecticut residents, and I look forward to seeing the finished project.
