Applications for the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) will open on September 1, 2022. Administered by the Connecticut Department of Social Services, CEAP provides winter heating cost assistance to income-eligible households regardless of their heat source.

Insurance companies are requesting to rate increases of an average of 20.4% for plans starting in 2023, a steep spike from the 8.6% average rate increase request for 2022.
