It’s been a busy week of session. We passed several bills, including one expanding access to absentee voting for all. There’s also some encouraging news on energy costs as lower electric bills may be on the horizon over the next few months. Don’t forget, you can safely dispose of unused or expired medications at Drug Take Back Day.

Sustainable CT Day at the Capitol, where we highlighted successful sustainability initiatives. The state is making $15 million available through the national settlement of the Volkswagen emissions scandal to support clean air projects across Connecticut. Plus, April is recognized as ABLE to Save Month in Connecticut, a time to raise awareness about financial empowerment for individuals with disabilities.

Supporting legislation to protect teachers. Connecticut’s Renters’ Rebate Program is now open to eligible renters who are elderly or living with a disability and meet certain income requirements. April is Autism Acceptance Month, a time to recognize, celebrate, and honor the experiences and identities of individuals with Autism.
