Rollin' with Rep. Nolan - Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities Executive Director Tanya Hughes

On this week's Rollin' with Rep. Nolan, I was joined by Tanya Hughes, executive director of the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO).

CHRO is the oldest and longest-running civil rights agencies in the country. They aim to eliminate discrimination in our state by enforcing our anti-discrimination laws, overseeing their affirmative action program and contract compliance programs.

Tanya and I spoke about a range of topics, including what to do if you think you've been discriminated against, what to expect after filing a complaint, their children's programs, and much more.

Thank you to Tanya for joining the show and telling us about this amazing organization!

Girl Scouts Day at the Capitol
Thank you to the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity for organizing an incredible event at the State Capitol, welcoming nearly 100 Girl Scouts from across Connecticut. This event was a powerful opportunity for these young leaders to engage in civic education, learn about the legislative process, and explore the impact of leadership and advocacy. Empowering the next generation with knowledge and confidence to shape their communities is invaluable, and I applaud the Commission and the Girl Scouts for fostering such an inspiring experience.
