Rep. Dillon: House Expands Vaccine Access to Uninsured

April 21, 2026

Today, we passed legislation that will protect the people of Connecticut and adapt to policy changes made on the federal level.

The National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has made policy changes that have caused confusion and uncertainty, especially about vaccine eligibility.

HB 5044: An Act Establishing Connecticut Vaccine Standards, requires the Department of Public Health to create a vaccine program for uninsured and underinsured individuals at no cost and instructs the Department to update immunization standards of care for both adults and children. As the co-chair of the Health subcommittee on Appropriations, I have supported funding vaccine availability for our state.

This bill makes vaccines more accessible, more affordable, and it will keep our communities healthier.
