Delivering for Danbury Together, the Danbury delegation secured: ➡️ $2,952,103 in education funding ➡️ $1,592,158 in town aid ➡️ $4,544,251 in total state support These are critical investments that support our schools, strengthen city services, and help ease pressure on local taxpayers.
A Budget That Supports Working Families This budget doesn’t just deliver for Danbury, it makes meaningful investments across our state to support working families: Strengthening Our Democracy
- $3.25 million for early voting and voter information
- Funding for universal no-excuse absentee voting
Supporting Seniors and Healthcare
- Continued funding for the Community First Choice Program ($9.2M)
- Increased Medicaid provider rates ($45M in FY26, $30M in FY27)
- New investments in senior services, including nutrition and care navigation
Protecting Our Communities
- $10 million for law enforcement equipment upgrades
- Increased support for fire training schools
- Expanded education benefits for first responders and National Guard members
Investing in Jobs and Workforce Development
- $2 million for the manufacturing pipeline
- Expanded youth employment programs and workforce training
- Support for CNA training and workforce navigators
Supporting Students and Families
- $12 million to expand free school breakfasts
- Expanded funding for education programs and teacher development
- Increased support for local school districts
- $300 million investment in early childhood care to expand access to affordable childcare
A Bipartisan Effort I was also encouraged to see this budget pass with strong bipartisan support, 127–21 in the House, reflecting a shared understanding of the need to invest in our communities and support working families.
Moving Danbury Forward At the end of the day, budgets are about priorities and this one reflects a commitment to investing in people, supporting our cities, and making sure communities like Danbury continue to move forward. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together as a delegation, and I’ll continue working to deliver results for our city.
