It's with great sadness that I share with you the loss of Bobbi the Bear, a beloved member of the Newtown community. Last Thursday, Bobbi was shot multiple times on Scudder Road by a home owner in Newtown, leaving behind two orphaned cubs.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) is utilizing numerous options to assist families across the state in accessing baby formula during the nationwide shortage. 

As other states and the Supreme Court move to erode healthcare and human rights, Connecticut is not sitting back.

Last night, I voted against legislation that, among other things, limits solitary confinement. While I support the main principles of the bill, I spoke on the House floor to express concerns with the lack of representation on the bill's advisory board for our correction officers.

I am proud to lead my legislative colleagues in offering recommendations for DEEP to consider in drafting the 2022 CES. 

With gas prices still averaging more than $4 per gallon in Connecticut, today, I voted to suspend the 25-cents-a-gallon tax on gasoline for three-months from April 1 through June 30. Bipartisan legislation passed today also includes free transit buses through June 30 and a second one-week sales tax holiday on clothing.

Trans youth and their families have been under attack for too long. Texas Governor Abbott’s directive stating that providing gender-affirming care should be considered a form of child abuse is both patently false and discriminatory.
