State Funding for Recreational Trails
Woodbridge will receive $8,400 in state grants to support the growth of the Woodbridge Trail QR Scan initiative for historic sites. The town will use the money for planning, education, and outreach.
This is part of a $10 million statewide investment to improve, build, and expand recreational trails. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is administering the grants through the Connecticut Recreational Trails Grant program.

Renewing Your Dog License in Woodbridge
June is Dog License Month in Connecticut, and the town of Woodbridge is reminding its dog owners to renew their dog licenses.

The license costs $8 for spayed or neutered dogs and $19 for dogs that are not. Please send your payment to the Town Clerk’s office via the stamped, return envelope that was included in the reminder mailing. Remember to include the copy of the dog license notice and rabies certificate if necessary.
The town will mail the dog license, tag, and clip once it has received your payment. Licenses are valid for one year, from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. There will be a $1 late fee per month for licenses requested after July 1. If you have questions, contact the Town Clerk’s Office at (203) 389-3424.

Dogs must be leashed at all times when in a public area. This town ordinance is in place for the safety of everyone in our community.

Local Police Carry Special Olympics Torch
I would like to thank Derby, Orange, Woodbridge, and Hamden Police for supporting the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Officers from each department carried the “Flame of Hope” in their respective communities last Friday as onlookers cheered them on! The event raises awareness and funds that directly benefit Special Olympics athletes.

Memorial Day Recap in the 114th District
The 114th district remembered and honored our fallen veterans on Memorial Day.

An impressive crowd came together for the Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade. You can watch the entire event in the video below.
