Updates from State Rep. Farley Santos for Oct. 3, 2025

October 3, 2025

Last week we came together to honor our Vietnam veterans and reflect on the Moving Wall’s arrival in Danbury back in 2012. Too many of these heroes never received the recognition they deserved when they returned home. It’s on us to make sure their sacrifices are never forgotten, and that we continue to show them the respect, gratitude, and honor they earned fighting for our nation.

Raising the Purple Flag

I joined the Center For Empowerment And Education for its second-annual purple flag raising during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence impacts 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men. We honored survivors, remembered those we’ve lost, and celebrated Alex Lopes for 35 years of service supporting victims and families.

Deputy Chief Celebrates 40 Years

One of Danbury’s finest, Deputy Chief Bernie Meehan just celebrated 40 years of devoted service to the City of Danbury! Please join me in congratulating and thanking this amazing individual.

Getting an 'A' from CEA

Strong public schools are vital for our kids and communities.

That’s why I’m proud to share my Connecticut Education Association report card.

As a product of city schools, I’ll always support educators, students, and families in our work to strengthen public education in Danbury.

New American Dream Gala

A beautiful night celebrating culture, diversity, and the spirit of the American Dream at the New American Dream Foundation Gala.

Congratulations to all the scholarship recipients, your journeys and accomplishments reflect stories so many of us share, including my own. It was also wonderful to see Cora’s Kids through the United Way recognized for their important work supporting children and families in our community.

And a special congratulations to this year’s honorees, my good friend Doug Polistena and Attorney General William Tong, both shining examples that the immigrant story is the American story.

Kudos to Chawi Jewelers

Big congratulations to Chawi Jewelers, which was named one of the top Seiko watch sellers in the entire country! What an amazing achievement, celebrated with a fantastic event right here in Danbury.

We’re so proud to have their success story shining in our community, here’s to even more milestones ahead!

New Old Timers

The Old Timers Association of Greater Danbury always does a great job recognizing deserving individuals and tonight was no exception. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
