Hartford Schools are Open and Buses are Back on the Streets
September 4, 2024With our City schools back in session as of last week, now is a good time for a reminder that we all need to be extra careful as school buses and students will be sharing the roads.
Hartford is one of the largest public school districts in the state, serving 16,500 PreK-12 students spread among 39 schools, including 18 magnet schools.
It is important that everyone does their part to keep our children safe as they head to classes and home. Once you familiarize yourself with bus safety laws, it becomes second nature just like the other rules of the road.
It is not only our responsibility, failing to obey school bus safety laws comes with hefty fines.
So remember - slow down in school zones, stop for buses, and stay alert. Safe driving in our community ensures our kids arrive at school and back home safely each day.
