State Funds Coming to Support Waterbury

June 11, 2024

Waterbury is receiving funding for three different projects that will improve our quality of life and slowly transform our community. The State Bond Commission approved the following:

  • $1.5 million for the Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury for its headquarters project

  • $1.1 million for the Mattatuck Museum to upgrade the HVAC system

  • $300,000 for the Manufacturing Alliance Service Corporation and its metal finishing program

The Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury is dedicated to fostering the creation of successful individuals by enhancing the quality of life of Hispanic families and the diverse population in Waterbury.

The Mattatuck Museum is an art and regional history museum on the Green in downtown Waterbury. The museum collects and exhibits American art and cultural history – with a focus on the history of the Naugatuck Valley and the artists of Connecticut.

Manufacturing Alliance Service Corporation is a NIMS Certified, post-secondary school and educational foundation, committed to the development of training programs for the metalworking and manufacturing communities of the Greater Waterbury area.

Thank you to Governor Ned Lamont, House Speaker Matt Ritter, Majority Leader Jason Rojas, and House Chair of the Bonding Subcommittee Ron Napoli for allocating these funds and having faith in these projects. We all work very hard during the legislative session for this funding, and I’m grateful for their work.
