August is National Breastfeeding Month

Dearly Beloved Neighbor,

I was happy to attend today's flag unveiling ceremony in Hartford to commemorate the beginning of National Breastfeeding Month.

The U.S. Breastfeeding Committee has recognized it as such since 2011. National  Breastfeeding Month has offered awareness and advocacy to promote breastfeeding. While this is a time to celebrate the outstanding work that supports babies, families, and lactation, this is also a time to continue to sound the alarm about the equity gaps in resources and support that create disparities for breastfeeding mothers.
