Dear Neighbor,
Millions for New London!
I was thrilled to see the following projects in New London receive funding from the State Bonding Commission today:
  • $245,037 for the Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London
  • $1,620,357 for the Lyman Allyn Art Museum to complete the Lyman Allen Park, a 12-acre urban park with lighted walkways, sculpture gardens, an event stage, a water feature, and greens spaces
  • $586,994 for reconstruction and improvements to the warehouse and New London State Pier, including site improvements and improvements to ferry slips

The funding approved today will have incredible long-term benefits for our town, enhancing our children’s, attracting more residents and tourists alike with great new attractions like the Lyman Allyn Park, adding funds for projects under development, and so much more.

ATTENTION TO ANYONE RECIEVEING EBT - SNAP
As you are likely aware, this EBT skimming scam is a nationwide issue. It is also a technology-driven crime committed, at times, by organized rings in which the criminals steal Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card information by installing electronic devices on ATMs or store point-of-sale (POS) terminals to capture card information, which is commonly referred to as skimming.

Connecticut, through DSS, was one of the first states in the nation to implement a replacement benefit plan, having done so in June 2023. Click the video below for some tips for recipients to keep your benefits safe.

Good discussion on length of time residents can possibly now return to apartment sooner after visit, also restructure of full building spray vs. every other month. Residents must still prep once a month for tech, but possible change to weather removal of some items can be relaxed.
