$2 Million For Upper Albany Main Street, Inc.

January 29, 2016

I am pleased that the State Bond Commission approved $2 million in state funding for an Upper Albany Main Street, Inc. building project at its meeting this morning in the Legislative Office Building.

I want to thank Governor Malloy for this generous state funding which will allow Upper Albany Main Street Inc. to continue their work revitalizing the Upper Albany neighborhood. This grant provides for the first phase of building improvements to Albany and Homestead Avenues to help promote business growth and beautify our city.

Established in 2000, Upper Albany Main Street, Inc. (UAMS) is an economic development and community revitalization organization located in the Upper Albany neighborhood of Hartford. UAMS views economic development as the principal catalyst for improving the quality of life for Albany Avenue residents, business owners, and visitors.
