During the Progressive Caucus’ “Love Note to CT” press conference today, I spoke towards environmental issues facing our state. We must work diligently to protect our natural resources, promote environmental justice and a green economy that promotes the health of our planet now and for future generations. We must hold polluters accountable and invest in green technology and renewable energy.

Key points on the environment includes:

• Tax and enforce responsibility of corporate polluters of air, water, and soil.
• Enact a carbon pricing scheme to incentivize a transition to a renewable energy economy.
• Subsidize research and development in new green technology.
• Invest in renewable energy resources, such as solar panels and biofuels.
